Temple Emanuel of North Jersey

The Office Administrator will organize and coordinate Temple Emanuel activities.  The Office Manager must have excellent communication skills, be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, work independently and prioritize tasks as needed. The position requires a candidate who is well organized, flexible and the ability to work in an environment supporting an office of diverse people, Temple Members, Board Members and the Rabbi.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·       Answering phones, logging phone calls and responses, responding to emails and mail on a daily basis.  This may require coordination with other Temple staff or Temple Members.

·       Prepare Temple communications such as weekly email newsletters, printing weekly flyers of upcoming events, monthly bulletins as needed.

·       Update calendar on website as well as for office use of all Temple functions and activities.

·       Ordering and/or shopping for food for kiddush or other social events.

·       Coordinate all printed and electronic communications, including the printing and distribution of quarterly bulletins, Gala and Journal publications, etc. as needed.

·       Coordinate functions needed for holidays, religious activities, community events and social activities, including printing materials, phone calls to members, collection of fees, publicity and advertisements.

·       Maintain record of donations and distribution of acknowledgements to members in coordination with the bookkeeper.

·       Office filing as needed.

·       Order office and Temple supplies.

·       Provide support for Temple meetings:  copies of minutes, phone calls and email reminders

·       Oversee the Synagogue facility. Report to the President/Custodian for repairs, maintenance or improvements, and work with vendors as needed.
