COMBATS ANTISEMITISM & SECURES THE COMMUNITY
Jewish Federation is at the forefront of advocacy, combating antisemitism, and ensuring safety for Jewish institutions and families. From working with law enforcement to advocating with elected officials, we take action every day to protect and strengthen our community. Together, we are building a safer, more inclusive future for all.

Jewish Community
Relations Committee – Advocacy
By definition, advocacy is speaking in support of a person or cause. Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) goes far beyond that. The JCRC takes action—initiating meetings and events to advocate for our Jewish community with government officials and leaders of other faiths, races, ethnicities, and public policy interests. It designs and sponsors programs to prevent and address antisemitism, including promoting the adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism. It works with public school administrators advocating for educational initiatives that combat hate and bias. JCRC also works to promote a greater understanding and positive view of Israel while advocating for government programs that benefit seniors, Holocaust survivors, and disabled adults. Jewish Community Security
Recent antisemitic incidents around the world, across the U.S., and right here in northern New Jersey make our community’s security an absolute priority. Federation has leapt to the forefront of this urgent issue, with a dedicated Security Director and Associate Security Director serving as a critical liaison to federal, state, and local law enforcement and private security professionals. In addition to offering security assessments and guidance, Federation provides training for local institutions and agencies, including programs like Stop the Bleed, active shooter training, and Run Hide and Fight. Through these efforts, Federation empowers our community to stay vigilant and prepared.
