A warm, vibrant Conservative synagogue in Wayne, NJ, is looking for a dynamic full-time administrator for a congregation of about 200 families.

Our Synagogue Administrator reports to the Congregation’s Executive Vice President and Rabbi.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing both day-to-day operations of the office and maintaining the facility
  • Handling the synagogue’s finances in cooperation with the financial officers
  • Serving as a contact person for prospective and current members
  • Coordinating all events and the synagogue calendar

Desired qualifications include:

  • A working knowledge of Jewish holidays, practices, and terminology
  • Experience with databases is essential and knowledge of ShulCloud is helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, QuickBooks, and Canva
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact well and create an environment of trust with the Board of Trustees, congregants, staff, and others
  • Excellent oral, written, and proofreading skills

Additional helpful qualifications include:

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Social Media Skills
