Full-time Synagogue Administrator

A warm, vibrant Conservative synagogue in Wayne, NJ, is looking for a dynamic full-time administrator for a congregation of about 250 families.

Our Synagogue Administrator reports to the Congregation’s Executive Vice President and Rabbi. Primary responsibilities include:

●      Overseeing day-to-day operations of the office

●      Managing and maintaining the facility

●      Handling the synagogue’s finances in cooperation with the financial officers

●      Serving as a contact person for prospective and current members

●      Coordinating all events and the synagogue calendar

Desired qualifications include:

●       A working knowledge of Jewish holidays, practices, and terminology

●       Ability to reinforce and enhance our warm, friendly environment

●       Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs and technologies

●       Experience with databases is essential and knowledge of ShulCloud is helpful

●       Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and QuickBooks

●       Social media skills

●       Maintaining a high level of confidentiality

●       Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

●       Ability to interact well and create an environment of trust with the Board of Trustees, congregants, staff, and others

●       Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on projects as well as previous experience planning, developing, and completing projects

●       Excellent oral, written, and proofreading skills

●       Ability to multi-task with attention to detail

●       Ability to work well under pressure while staying organized

●       Prior supervisory experience
