Position Summary:
With a passion for the mission of Jewish Federation, the is a senior level position responsible for overseeing the growth of the organization’s mid-level donor program ($1,000 – $10,000). This position will be supervising four team members tasked with mid-level engagement and fundraising, growing a personal portfolio of mid-level donors, and developing and executing strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors. The Senior Director of Development is a key member of the Development team and plays a vital role in strategic planning, external engagement, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities:
Management and Supervision
- Supervise mid-level fundraisers and engagement professionals (currently four direct reports), to ensure program growth, strategy, and mission alignment.
- Create attainable fundraising metrics for each team member, and work with them to achieve annual goals.
Resource Development and Front-Line Fundraising
- Develop and grow personal portfolio of 50-75 donors with annual giving of $5K – $10K annually, with an approximate fundraising goal of $150,000 annually in new money.
Fundraising Strategy
- Collaborate with Director of Operations and Donor Relations to implement qualification process for mid-level fundraisers, focused on pipeline growth and moves management.
- Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop and execute strategies for donor engagement, acquisition, and retention.
- Develop and execute fundraising strategy to grow total mid-level giving pipeline, identifying areas for growth and incorporating current affinity giving priorities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related discipline
- A strong understanding of Jewish culture, values, and community dynamics is highly beneficial
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising with donors of between $5k – $10k, community/membership engagement, relationship-building, communications, or a related field is required
- A passion for philanthropy, a keen understanding of donor motivations, and a proven track record in successful fundraising efforts would be highly valued in this position
- Staff management experience required
- Familiarity with using CRM systems preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions, Kosher laws, and customs is a plus
Salary range is $120,000 – $135,000 depending on experience. Excellent benefit package is available
