JCC Rockland 22nd International Jewish Film Festival

JCC Rockland proudly presents the 22nd International Jewish Film Festival, a celebration of international Jewish and Israeli life, culture, and history through the power of film. For over 20 years, this festival has brought people together, fostering unity within the Jewish community and across Rockland County.

Our mission is to entertain and engage diverse audiences by showcasing films through a Jewish perspective – featuring first-run and award-winning independent and international films. The festival serves as a platform for exploring international cinema and celebrating Jewish and Israeli life. It embraces themes of culture, identity, diversity, history, and resilience, offering a thought-provoking and enriching experience for all attendees. It unites the Rockland community through award-winning films and provides a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on complex global and Jewish issues.

This year’s festival will feature an impressive lineup, showcasing 12 outstanding films that provide compelling storytelling, diverse perspectives, and an engaging cinematic experience. The films, which include a mix of poignant dramas, insightful documentaries, and lighthearted comedies, will be screened at Regal Nanuet & JCC Rockland from Thursday, March 27th to Tuesday, April 29th, ensuring a dynamic and thought-provoking experience for all.

Among the featured films is the powerful documentary OCTOBER H8TE. Executive produced by Debra Messing and directed by Wendy Sachs, this timely film investigates the surge of anti-Semitism on college campuses, social media, and in public spaces in the aftermath of October 7th. With contributions from influential voices such as Michael Rapaport, Mosab Yousef, Sheryl Sandberg, Scott Galloway, US Rep. Ritchie Torres, US Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, U.S. Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, Dan Senor, Noa Tishby, Bari Weiss, and a courageous survivor from Nir Oz, OCTOBER H8TE offers a compelling narrative on contemporary challenges.

Continuing its tradition, the festival will feature special guest appearances from filmmakers, actors, writers, and experts across various fields, including law, politics, and culture. These distinguished guests will participate in post-screening discussions, providing deeper insight into the films and engaging in conversations with the audience.

Now more than ever, it is crucial to unite our Jewish community, and what better way to do so than through the power of film.
